2005-01-16 📌 Microsoft MultiMedia keyboard Function Lock / F-Lock key fix!

Tags All Tech

You may recall that I bought a Microsoft Natural MultiMedia keyboard about two years ago, and I may or may not have complained about Microsoft's attempt to replace the function keys with application-specific shortcuts (such as a button that does Ctrl-O for Open, one that mimics Ctrl-S for Save, etc) and the fact that these replacements default to "on" with every reboot. Well, I found this solution a few months back:

Basically some straightforward keyboard mappings for 2000/XP which tame the damn thing. Of course, this doesn't work in DOS or on CMOS screens, but we can't have everything... that would never do, would it Microsoft?

In all fairness, it's still a keyboard with a lovely comfortable shape.
