Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers (SCE)

Short stories in the Next Gen era, with an emphasis on problem-solving rather than epic storylines. Both the crew of the U.S.S. Da Vinci and the wider Federation universe get fleshed out, generally without getting overly repetitive with introductions (since each story was published as a separate eBook first, there needs to be enough for new readers to latch onto.) There are currently a few stories uncollected in print form, but it seems likely that Pocket Books will schedule them eventually.

I suggest steering clear of Wikipedia and Amazon summaries until you've read past book six, because even the cover of book seven (Breakdowns) contains spoilers.
