Short stories in the Next Gen era, with an emphasis on problem-solving rather than epic storylines. Both the crew of the U.S.S. Da Vinci and the wider Federation universe get fleshed out, generally without getting overly repetitive with introductions (since each story was published as a separate eBook first, there needs to be enough for new readers to latch onto.)

A tip, though: I suggest steering clear of Wikipedia and Amazon summaries, at least until you've read the first couple of volumes, since the titular story of Book Six features cast changes and the cover of Book Seven is a spoiler if seen at a readable size.

I'm currently on Book Eight and thoroughly enjoying the series.
